🏀 Drill 1 — Keep Ups and Ball Control

Start off easy. We’re just working on getting that feel for the ball.
Go for two or three juggles, then four, then five — build it up nice and steady.
Stay relaxed, stay balanced. Let the ball come to you, and focus on keeping it under control.
Every now and then, pop it a bit higher, regain control, and keep it going.

Coaching Tip: Don’t rush. Smooth and steady touches beat big kicks every time. Keep your head over the ball and your body centred.

⚽ Drill 2 — First Touch and Wall Control

Next up, we’ll use a wall or rebounder — this one’s brilliant for your touch.
One bounce between each pass. Use different parts of your foot — inside, outside, both feet.
The aim is rhythm. Be light on your toes, keep your body moving, and stay alert to how the ball reacts.

Try changing the distance:

  • Close range: quick feet, fast reactions.
  • Step back: focus on control and timing.

Coaching Tip: Make it realistic. Picture a teammate firing a pass at you — your first touch should set you up for the next move, every time.

🌀 Drill 3 — Inside & Outside Spin

Now we’ll mix it up. Use the inside of your foot for control, the outside for curve and spin.
You’ll feel the difference straight away — the more you practise both, the more natural it becomes.
Keep switching feet, stay smooth, and don’t fight the ball. Let it roll, guide it, own it.

🧠 Wrap-Up & Mindset

These drills might look simple, but they’re the backbone of every great player.
Do them every day — five, ten minutes here and there — and you’ll notice how much sharper you feel on the pitch.

Consistency beats talent when talent doesn’t train. So keep at it.
